Hello! My name is Luísa and I am a freelance illustrator based in Porto, Portugal.
I studied Fine Arts – Sculpture and later Illustration, a background that continues to shape the way I approach visual storytelling. Colour, texture, and composition are central to my work, and I am always looking for ways to bring playfulness and emotion into each piece.
Between 2020 and 2024, I worked as an in-house designer and illustrator at a small educational media publisher. I am now focused on developing my own projects, with a particular interest in book illustration. Narrative is at the heart of my work, whether I am drawing expressive characters, creating fantastical worlds, or exploring everyday moments.
Outside of work, I enjoy dancing ballet, playing board games, and learning new crafts such as embroidery, crochet, knitting, or making clay jewellery. I also share my days with Miso, my cheeky and very loving black cat.
